PURPOSE AND INTENT

There are some skills you will need everyday for the rest of your life! Developing your vocabulary skills will always be self rewarding because they play a major role in your learning and communicating abilities. Others who hear you speak and those who share your writing will be impressed as well. Your level of confidence will soar in the classroom as you expect them to soar on the courts and fields, with practice. Here are some of the ways to accomplish this task.

This introductory lesson will offer the learner:

  • preparation for oral and written communication skills
  • better test taking and study skills
  • more opportunities for interactive classroom participation
  • new repertoire of college/career readiness words & meanings
  • help with pronunciations & spelling
  • help with identifying parts of speech
  • help with using new words in context
  • value and character building critical thinking skills
